When ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley asked Microsoft for more details about the decision to end support for the keyboard app, the company's officials had nothing to say. He did not explain why Microsoft is discontinuing SwiftKey on iOS. Wolfe also confirmed that SwiftKey for Android remains unaffected by this announcement, and will continue to be supported. But the keyboard app cannot be downloaded again if it is uninstalled, this also means that users who switch to new devices will be unable to fetch it from the App Store. It is also capable of syncing the clipboard data between Windows and Android devices.Ĭhris Wolfe, Director of Product Management at SwiftKey, told The Verge that users who have SwiftKey installed on their iOS device can continue to use it even after it is deslisted. SwiftKey's technology is also being put to use in Windows 11, specifically for the Windows Touch Keyboard.

Microsoft switched the name to System Center Configuration Manager in 2007. From 1994 to 2006, it was called Systems Management Server. Microsoft released SCCM, also called ConfigMgr in IT circles, in 1994, but its name has changed over time. So, what's the best way to use this management product? Get back to basics: What is SCCM? Microsoft recently combined both products in the Microsoft Endpoint Manager suite to cover a range of complicated scenarios, including traditional on-premises platforms, such as Active Directory, and more modern arrangements that involve hybrid-joined devices in Azure Active Directory. Microsoft released Intune in 2011 for mobile device management (MDM), but it has steadily accumulated functionality to make it another viable alternative to administer Windows client devices. Since 1994, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) has been the gold standard to manage workstations, servers and mobile devices.
